Story

On the morning of 5th May 2018 I will be setting off on my new epic challenge, a 106km (66 miles) walking lap of the Isle of Wight; the aim is to complete this within 24 hours. Having taken part in, and completed the London to Brighton Challenge (100km) in 2016, I know I have the strength of mind to take on the Isle of Wight. And with that experience under my belt, I aim to be better prepared, fitter and stronger for my new challenge. The challenge website is; https://www.isleofwightchallenge.com

I am taking on this challenge in order to raise money for St. Elizabeth's Hospice, a Suffolk based, charity funded hospice, offering palliative care to patients and support to their families. This is a charity close to my families heart after the compassionate care they offered to my late father in he's long fought battle with cancer, and the support they extended to my mother and immediate family in this difficult time.

I would greatly appreciate any support you can offer in my aim to raise money for this worthy charity.

Yesterday I finished my epic challenge, walking 106km in blistering heat, tackling some arduous ascents and descent, in a time of 27 hours and 20 minutes. Can't believe I actually managed it! There is still time to donate if you haven't done already, anything you can spare would be greatly appreciated! Thank you all for your support.

Final training walk today, before starting my challenge next Saturday. A flying solo lap of Alton water, 12.5km in under 2 hours, really pleased with my pace!

Was aiming for a 4 lap, 49km walk around Alton water today, but only managed 30km due to the heat and issues related to challenging events this week. Best to rest rather than push myself too far.

3 laps today, equivalent to one third challenge distance. Good pace but legs are feeling a little tender now. Please, if you can, support me in raising money for St. Elizabeth's Hospice, a very worthy charity. Thank you!
